A Rewarding Day at the 16th ITKFA Championship

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, a small group of our students traveled to Concord, CA, to participate in the 16th ITKFA Chinese Martial Arts Championship. It was a wonderful opportunity to test our skills and connect once again this year with the wider martial arts community.

Three of our dedicated students stepped onto the floor to compete in the Beginner Hand Forms division. They all displayed great focus, representing our Wing Tsun training with composure and a steady spirit.

While it is always nice to see our students place well, the most rewarding part of the day was watching them support each other and gain valuable experience.
The tournament was also a great gathering for the community. Sifu Matyas had the honor of helping judge the competitors, working alongside other respected Sifus to support a fair and positive event for everyone involved.

A big thank you to the ITKFA organizers for putting together a fantastic tournament.
We are already back to practice, using everything we learned this weekend to continue growing together. See you all at the studio for our next class!

"We signed our 9 year old son up for a trial and brought along our 5 year old daughter as well. Sifu Matyas was patient and knowledgeable about the art and we felt that our son will certainly benefit from learning self defense. We've been to other places and they just seem like all they want is enrollment. However, it did not feel like that at all with Sifu Matyas. While my son was doing his trial, our daughter was watching as well. She seemed to show interest in the art and asked us if she can join as well. We were seriously surprised by this. She is not one to like people easily and only watching the Sifu Matyas for 45 minutes, she was comfortable enough to want to join the class. We enrolled both our kids and started class the next day.
